Background

Everyone drowns in news; nobody has time to read it. Absorby turns the firehose into a personal daily brief.

Concept

Collects and analyzes articles into a shared daily briefing. The client reorders those articles using the reader's cached personal relevance, falling back to global significance. Separate executive digests, audience lenses and translation add ways to read the material.

Build story

The repository implementation includes a shared sanitizer that strips control, zero-width and direction-changing characters, masks common injection phrasing, and fences article text as untrusted data before AI requests. A reusable usage guard compares a reader's successful calls in a feature bucket against configurable daily limits; it is a usage check, not an atomic spending ceiling. Consent checks precede PostHog and Sentry initialization. User-data export and account-deletion handlers are also built, with partial export errors and best-effort deletion cleanup reported in their responses.

Outcomes

The public pricing page lists Free and Pro features and says Pro is not yet purchasable, as captured October 20, 2026. This source review does not establish hosted AI-limit enforcement, complete data removal, paid checkout or email and Slack delivery.
